Assistant CRS Manager-Guilford; Benhaven Residential Division
Benhaven Residential Division is seeking an Assistant CRS Manager for the Stepstone CRS Home opening in Guilford.
The Assistant CRS Manager is responsible for working in partnership with the CRS Manager to carry out the Benhaven mission for people being supported residentially at their assigned location, be responsible for the residents, staff and home in the absence of the CRS Manager, supervise staff, and train staff. The Assistant CRS Manager performs direct support and is a role model for all staff. The Assistant CRS Manager contributes to creating and overseeing resident programming, and oversees house systems.
Schedule: Sunday 3:00pm-9:00pm; Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 3:00pm-11:00pm; & Thursday 3:00pm-9:00pm
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Status: Full-time, non-exempt
Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are assigned to this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Management Responsibilities:
- Oversees implementation of household routines and provides feedback to staff and CRS Manager as needed,
- Provides on-site supervision to staff,
- Implements at the direction of the CRS Manager scheduling systems including the management of overtime
- As assigned, trains staff in routines, and observes, provides feedback on staff performance,
- Ensures transportation policy requirements are met,
- Acts as CRS Manager in CRS Manager’s absence including on-call responsibilities.
Resident responsibilities:
- Contributes to the development of resident schedule and oversees daily implementation,
- Provides on-site supervision by overseeing staff assignments and providing feedback
- Supervise staff implementation of behavior plans and resident routines
- As assigned, conduct guided practice and ongoing instruction in resident programs
- Is fully informed about all residents of the home
- When on shift, responds to needs and requests made by families and colleagues
- When on shift keeps staff, families, and supervisors informed of changes and new information
- Conduct routine communication with families and team members
- In collaboration with the CRS Manager, oversees the use of house communication procedures by self and staff
- Contributes to monthly reports with graphs timely according to agency standards
- As assigned, provides training in resident programming
- Oversee ongoing implementation of resident programs
- Oversees staff documentation of resident programs including ISP and behavior plans
- Attends to resident’s needs, belongings, and physical environment
- Monitor residents’ health, report concerns, and ensure treatment is provided as per agency policy
- Oversee health and medication documentation as per agency policies
- Schedule routine, and other appointments, as necessary
- Ensure appointments take place as scheduled and providers receive important information about the resident’s needs
- Ensure medical information is communicated to all parties (nurse, families, another team members) and documented
Advocate Responsibilities:
- Ensures there is consistent communication with all team members
- Ensures staff are informed of information needed for staff to effectively support our residents,
- Participates in assigned resident team meetings
- Contributes information towards the development of individual plans, goals, and behavior plan
Medical Responsibilities:
- Monitor residents’ health, report concerns, and ensure treatment is provided as per agency policy
- Oversee health and medication documentation as per agency policies
- Schedule routine, and other appointments, as necessary
- Ensure appointments take place as scheduled and providers receive important information about the resident’s needs
- Ensure medical information is communicated to all parties (nurse, families, another team members) and documented
Position Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with people with Autism and Intellectual Developmental Disabilities
- good verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of Positive Behavioral Support strategies
- Flexibility
- Ability to participate in a variety of physical activities: walking, hiking, lifting, pushing, and pulling
- CT Driver’s license
- Reliable and safe vehicle with registration and insurance
- Strong computer skills and technical skills i.e. Therap, Microsoft
- Ability to pass DDS Medication Certification
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels.
- Assist with the management of communications
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
