Instructional Coach, Career & Transition Services

Benhaven Career & Transition Services is seeking two dedicated and motivated individuals to join our team as Instructional Coaches. The Instructional Coaches will work closely with young adults with austism and developmental disabilities. The Instructional Coaches provide academic support, career development guidance, and life skills training. 

The Instructional Coaches support young adults to transition successfully into post-secondary education, vocational training, or the workforce. 

These are Full-time, Monday-Friday 9:00am-3:30pm positions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist individuals in developing career goals and creating individualized transition plans
  • Provide academic support, including tutoring 
  • Support individuals in developing job readiness skills, such as resume writing, job search strategies, and interview preparation
  • Facilitate workshops and group sessions on topics related to career exploration, workplace etiquette, and personal finance
  • Collaborate with teams to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for individuals
  • Monitor and track progress, collect data on outcomes, and report on program effectiveness
  • Attend meetings and training sessions to stay current on best practices in career and transition services
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Must have a CT drivers license & insured vehicle in order to transport individuals in the community
  • High school diploma, some college preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities preferred but not necessary
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge Microsoft Office and other computer software applications helpful
