Assistant Group Home Manager-North Haven, Benhaven Residential
Benhaven Residential Services is seeking an Assistant Manager for one of their Group Homes located in North Haven.
Full-time: 36 hours per week, non-exempt position
Location: North Haven, 6 bed CLA group home
Schedule: Saturday 3:00am-9:30pm
Wednesday 7:00am-10:30am & 1:00pm-9:30pm
Thursday 7:00am-10:30am & 3:30pm-9:30pm
Friday 7:00am-10:30am & 3:30pm-9:30pm
The Assistant Manager is supervised by the Residential Manager. The Assistant Manager is responsible for working in partnership with the Residential Manager to lead, supervise, and train staff. The Assistant Manager supports a positive environment for the people being supported and a fun cohesive work environment for the staff. The Assistant Manager performs direct support at a high level and as a role model. The Assistant Manager provides additional supervision and training as assigned, contributes to creating and overseeing resident programming, and leads and oversees house systems.
Responsibilities:
The following duties are assigned to this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Oversees implementation of household routines and provides feedback where needed
- Provides on-site leadership, briefing, and de-briefing
- Implements house staffing systems including the management of overtime
- As assigned, trains staff in household routines, and observes staff performance
- Acts as House Manager in House Manager’s absence including on-call responsibilities.
- Supports manager in creating and maintaining staffing schedule.
- Provides on-site leadership by overseeing staff assignments and providing feedback
- Supervise staff implementation of behavior plans and resident routines
- As assigned, conduct guided practice and ongoing instruction in resident programs
- Acts as the primary source of communication for team members
- Participates in resident’s team meetings
- Contributes information towards the development of individual plans, goals, and behavior plan
- As assigned, provides training in resident programming
- Oversee supporters’ ongoing implementation of resident programs
- Oversees staff documentation of resident programs including ISP and behavior plans
- Attends to resident’s needs, belongings, and physical environment
- Is informed about all residents of the home
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Good verbal and written communication skills, understanding of important clinical concepts
- The flexibility to work second shift and weekends. Must take occasional assignments related to meetings and appointments
- Participate in a variety of physical activities (e.g., walking, hiking, lifting, pushing, and pulling).
- CT driver’s license, reliable and safe vehicle with registration and insurance.
- Strong computer and technical skills (Therap or other systems, Microsoft office, etc.)
- Experience with autism and/or developmental disabilities
- Pass a variety of background checks
