Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Benhaven Residential is Seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse too oversee CLA’s and CRS'
Full-time: 30 hours per week, non-exempt position. Monday-Friday
Location: North Haven
This is a full-time, 30 hour per week exempt position. Working Monday-Friday Flexible (daytime hours) No on-call, no weekends required. In this position the LPN will be providing supports to Benhaven residents and the staff in areas related to resident health and medication administration. The primary function is to consult, educate, train, and the coordination of medical care for our CLA’s and CRS’. The Licensed Practical Nurse, works under the supervision of the Residential Nurse and coordinates resident medical and psychiatric services with the RN and Residential Managers. This position is part of the Residential Team and works as a team member in providing health care supports. In addition, the LPN will be instrumental in the organization and coordination of our Psychiatric clinic.
For the following duties are assigned to this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Responsibilities:
• Monthly Kardex review and Completion
• Quarterly Med Audits
• Managing/thinning medical records
• Pass and pours (after DDS certification is complete)
• Management of basic medical needs compliance
• Ensures all residents appointments are completed and consultation sheets are accurate
• Ensures follow up is completed and implemented
• Fill in med passes
• Communicate with Medical Director and Psych MD for signed orders. (i.e. lab work signed by PCP)
QUALIFICATIONS:
• DDS experience preferred, but not required
• Current certification from the State of Connecticut, Department of Public Health, as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Good interpersonal relationships,
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good judgment and ability to handle confidential information
• Ability to handle stressful and/or crisis situations
• Good time-management skills (ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks)
• CPR certified
• PMT certified a plus but not required
