Benhaven School is seeking a Per Diem Speech/Language Pathologist (TEMP) for a specific timeframe. The SLP will work up to 4 days per week and require some flexibility. 

Purpose of Position:

The Per Diem SLP will report to the School Director. This is a per diem, temporary position. 

Responsibilities:

These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. These will be reviewed upon assignment.

• Develop current levels of performance and communication goals/objectives for students’ IEPs in collaboration with the planning and placement team (PPT) as needed
• Provide speech therapy services to students on a direct and/or indirect basis.
• Collaborate with teachers and classroom staff for communication strategies and modalities to be used throughout a student’s day including in the classrooms and during community learning. 
• Create a variety of visual supports for students to be used in school and at home including picture exchange systems, aided language supports, choice boards, and social narratives.
• Develop, maintain, and support augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices used by students.
• Attend student team meetings, PPT meetings, and additional meetings such as Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA), Behavior Support Plan updates/discussions, Futures Planning meetings, and DDS Individual Plan (IP) meetings.
• Collaborate with students’ families, caregivers, and group home staff.
• Complete Medicaid billing paperwork in accordance with state requirements. 
• Analyze data for goals and objectives and complete trimester progress reports

Preferred Experience:

• Working in CT schools.
• Working with students with severe disabilities who are non-verbal or minimally verbal.
• Familiarity with AAC programs such as LAMP WFL, TouchChat an Proloquo2Go
• Current Speech Pathology license from the Connecticut Department of Public Health
• Current Educator Certificate with a Speech and Language Pathologist endorsement from the Connecticut State Department of Education
• Have ASHA certification: CCC-SLP
